Poker Ride

Saturday, March 13th, 2010
1419 27th Ave Gulfport, MS

Registration: 8 am, Ride: 9 am

Members :$10, Non-Members $15

This is how the Poker ride will work. Everyone will receive one Poker Card at the beginning. The bike route will have riders go to 3 more shops, and also the end. The three shops will be Cyclists Choice, Competition Sports, and Run-N-Tri. When the rider arrives at the finish and receives their last card, we will note their Poker hand. The riders that have the best hands will be eligible for our 3 main prizes.

· Prizes include Gift Cards to Local Bike Shops, Club Memberships, and More!

· Great Family Fun and Routes for all rider skill levels.

Beginning Route: 8.5 miles

The beginning is an 8.5 mile route, that loops back at Competition Sports for riders younger than 18 and unaccompanied by an adult, or riders who may not like the traffic on Cowan Lorraine Road. For those riders they will receive 2 cards at the finish instead of just 1

Advanced Route: 15 miles

The Advanced route will have cyclists use the bicycle lane on Cowan-Lorraine Road. We caution inexperienced riders, and ones whom are not comfortable with an "Urban" cycling situation that this road is busy.

· Food and Drinks provided.

Please invite your family and friends. This is not a race, but a fun event. Cue Sheets and a Route Map will be provided at Registration. If you have any questions, please post in this thread and we'll be happy to answer them for you.

Prizes, food... lots of planning going on!!! What an awesome idea for a fun ride, and Ben and Pat have been busy with the preparations.

I plan on riding this at a leisurely "tato nut" pace. Just for fun! Maybe even on my old hybrid bike.

Riding around Gulfport...nice streets, no traffic problems... new folks... AWESOME welcome from Cyclist Choice, Competition Sports, AND Run-N-Tri... good weather... burgers and hot dogs... and a few winning poker hands.

Great Event guys and gals! I just want to send out a Thanks to all the Donators, ride leaders and sweepers. Thank you Mark for cooking for us and everyone for helping spread the word on the event. Lets keep growing the club and club membership so we can help further bicycle advocacy in Mississippi. The Southern Magnolia 100 is not too far away, lets start thinking of what we can do to make this ride better than it was last year (it will be hard to match what Jeff did last year, kudos to you Jeff)
